Mr. Bakht Mand Khan (Late), the Father of Mr. Akram Hayat - Executive Director Khyber Minerals Swat (KMS), was regarded as a pioneer in the mineral sector in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region and established Swat Mining Corporation (SMC) in 1952. Executive Director remained in key positions with SMC, gained vital knowledge and experience in the sector, and expanded his business through the foundation of KMS in 2013.

SMC, being a parental company, led the development of a more focused company: KMS, which in its early stages emphasized the quality management systems of both the mining process, mineral ore, and processing standardization. At the beginning, our main clients were from the Oil and Gas sector through OGDCL Pakistan, Dowell Schlumberger, Halliburton, Sprint Oil & Gas Services, and gradually supply of raw materials to Ceramics, Glass, Automotive, and Steel Manufacturers
